Cybersecurity Engineer

KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Cybersecurity Engineer.Job Summary:We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure systems, networks, and applications. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding the organization's information assets from internal and external threats, ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability.Key Responsibilities:Design and implement secure network, system, and application architectures.Monitor networks and systems for security events and respond to incidents.Coordinate remediation of and pen test findings.Respond to SOC escalations and assist other teams with troubleshooting.Assist with management and response to the ticketing queue.Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and best practices.Participate in incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and forensic investigations.Review and improve access control measures, identity management, and authentication systems.Assist with providing evidence to auditors,Work cross-functionally with IT, DevOps, and other teams to integrate security into infrastructure and development lifecycles.Stay current with emerging threats, technologies, and regulatory requirements.Required:Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.5 years of experience in cybersecurity or information security roles.Solid understanding of network and system security principles, firewalls, encryption, and authentication protocols.Experience with security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, firewalls).Knowledge of common frameworks and standards (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, MITRE ATT&CK).Preferred:Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GSEC, or Security .Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and analysis.Experience supporting audits and compliance initiatives (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Team player with a proactive, risk-focused mindset.ABOUT KORE1Specializing in professional and technical recruiting, KORE1 is committed to supporting top IT, Engineering, Creative, Scientific, Accounting and Finance professionals in their career paths.
