Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing leader in the clean energy sector. Reporting to the Senior Human Resource Business Partner, the Human Resources Generalist will play a critical role and perform a wide variety of HR-related duties as an administrator, front-line resource for employees, and recruiter.               

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced
work environment, has attention to detail, exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong working knowledge of HR best practices and compliance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

 

  • Assist with the recruitment and selection process, including posting job advertisements, attending job fairs, reviewing resumes, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and conducting reference and background checks.
  • Serve as the administrator for the department, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records and legal compliance.
  • Answer questions for employees and provide guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Responsible for benefit plan administration, invoice reconciliation, and oversight.
  • Assist with payroll processing preparation.
  • Onboard and offboard employees.
  • Create and maintain job descriptions.
  • Assist with training and performance management.
  • Prepare reports and presentations.
  • Maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Assist with the execution of department goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate on and lead special projects.

 

Reports To

 

The position will report to the Senior Human Resource Business Partner.

Qualifications

  • An associate degree or higher or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist role.
  • Experience with the full life cycle of recruiting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build trust among diverse constituencies.
  • Commitment to actively promote and contribute to an engaging and inclusive workplace.
  • Ability to be flexible, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing work priorities.
  • Strong working knowledge of HR best practices and legal compliance.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Comfortable navigating through cloud-based applications and online portals.
  • Experience with Paylocity payroll and HCM system is a plus.

 

Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to communicate orally.
  • Hearing and vision within normal ranges, with or without corrective lenses or an assisted hearing device. 
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • No heavy lifting is expected.

 

Work Environment

  • The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting.
  • Extended periods of sitting and extensive work at a computer.
