What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loom Maintenance position at Kordsa International Llc?
Basic Description of Position
The function of the Loom Mechanic is to repair and maintain all looms in weaving process on his/her assigned shift.
Essential Responsibilities
- Respond to maintenance board to repair flagged looms.
- Troubleshoot and determine cause of problem and repair. Communicate with Weaver as needed.
- After repair, start loom to check for correct operation and log time completed on maintenance board.
- Perform scheduled and preventive maintenance on all assigned looms.
- Handle lubrication of all looms as scheduled.
- Oversee and assist with style changing of looms. Make necessary adjustments as well as changing gears if necessary.
- Communicate with on-coming mechanic on machines in process of repair.
- Assist in keeping inventory on parts and helping to order needed parts.
- Required to work safely at all times using all required PPE, following lockout/tagout LOTO procedures in accordance with plant/company policy
- Maintain housekeeping around assigned work area.
- Work overtime as needed including holidays, weekends, nights, plant shutdowns and after hour call-ins
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision

- Must be willing to work off-shift when necessary
Physical Requirements
- Must have good communication and written skills
- Must be organized and self-directed to proactively identify and address issues
- Must be able to bend down, stretch, walk long distances, climb stairs and steps
- Must be able to stand for extended periods on hard surfaces such as concrete and lift heavy objects (weighing more than 40 pounds).
Tools, Equipment, & Material Requirements
- Computer
- Lift truck, splicer, scissors Hand tools, conductivity meter, welders, torches, drills, band saw, hand tools, presses, grinders, blade grinder, Kevlar gloves when using knives
- PPE (Safety Glasses, Earplugs, Safety Shoes, etc.)
Safety & Security Requirements
- Should always set an example of safe work practices
- Lockout Tag and Lock when performing electrical duties
- Awareness of job hazards in the manufacturing environment
Education, Experience & Other Training
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous loom or industrial maintenance experience preferred
