We are seeking a patient, energetic, and compassionate Preschool Director to join our dynamic team. Kordas Korner Preschool offers programs for students starting at 32 months of age and also offers before- and after-school programs for school-age students. We pride ourselves on having a long-term staff that is experienced, supportive, and passionate about helping children learn and grow.
The Preschool Director will lead and oversee the daily operations of all school programs, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children of all ages. This role requires a dedicated leader who values early childhood education, supports staff development, and fosters strong relationships with families. The ideal candidate will inspire the team, maintain high program standards, prioritize the education, along with prioritizing the well-being, and self-esteem of every child.
Duties
- Ensure that the school curriculum is being upheld to promote early childhood development, creativity, and critical thinking skills
- Supervise and support teaching staff through mentoring, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain compliance with all state and local licensing regulations, safety standards, and health protocols
- Foster positive relationships with families by communicating program updates, addressing concerns, and implementing family programs and encouraging family involvement
- Oversee staff scheduling for sick days, time off, and professional development training
- Manage administrative tasks such as family communication, student evaluation, incident reports, and licensing documentation
- Assure that program staff are following program policy and procedures
- Review procedural information with staff and follow up with any misconduct
- Meet with staff regularly to review and discuss any program issues
- Provide written evaluations for new staff members each month for three months
Experience/Skills
- Proven experience working with children across various age groups in a preschool settings
- Strong background in early childhood education principles and childhood development strategies
- Strong ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with parents, including during challenging conversations or conflict resolution situations. Ability to foster trust, collaboration, and open communication between families and staff.
- Demonstrated classroom management skills and ability to lead a team of teachers
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; as well as medication and epipen
- Familiarity with licensing requirements for childcare centers and daycare operations a plus a bonus would be if you have completed the course for Director's Credentials required by the state. Otherwise, you will need to complete the course in the first year.
