The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
  • Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
  • Assist in the development of solutions for technical problems.
  • Work with an experienced engineer mentor.

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern Or Co-Op, Your Task Is To Assist In Design, Analyze Building Systems Or Site Development/public Works Projects, And Assist In Preparation Of Drawings And Specifications For Bidding And Construction By Contractors. Your Work Will Be Based On Your Area Of Study And More Specifically Described As Follows

  • Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems (HVAC)
  • Pumping and piping systems
  • Control systems
  • Plumbing systems
  • Fire Protection systems

This position involves interpreting and applying local and national code requirements as part of the design for the safety of the public.

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with course work in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to learn new skills and to work towards continuous improvement
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Have work authorization for unlimited full-time employment after graduation
