As an Engineering Intern, your task is to assist in design, analyze building systems or site development/public works projects, and assist in preparation of drawings and specifications for bidding and construction by contractors. Your work will be based on your area of study and more specifically described as follows:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
- Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
- Assist in the development of solutions for technical problems.
- Work with an experienced engineer mentor.
As an Engineering Intern, your task is to assist in design, analyze building systems or site development/public works projects, and assist in preparation of drawings and specifications for bidding and construction by contractors. - Complex urban and rural roadways
- Streetscapes
- Intersection improvements and roundabouts
- Safety and beautification improvements
- Trails/shared use paths
- Private site development projects
- Public utility/infrastructure improvements
- Steel building structures
- Concrete building structures
- Post-tensioned concrete structures
- Wood building structures
- High-Rise structures
- Fabric structures
- High/Medium voltage power distribution systems
- Low voltage systems; fire alarm, sound, paging, video, security, nurse call, medical telemetry
- Generator emergency/stand-by power systems
- Interior/Exterior building lighting & lighting controls
- Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning systems (HVAC)
- Pumping and piping systems
- Control systems
- Plumbing systems
- Fire Protection systems
Minimum Requirements:
Civil Engineering Intern / Co-Op:
- Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural design emphasis and completion of introductory steel and concrete course work
- Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or another Engineering degree with significant course work or work experience related to Electrical Engineering
- Currently in pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with course work in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
- Willingness to learn new skills and to work towards continuous improvement
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Have work authorization for unlimited full-time employment after graduation
