Compensation

  • The starting wage for this role will be between $92,000 and $114,000 per year to commensurate with experience.
  • We offer a Lodging Allowance of $735.00 per week.

Job Responsibilities

Manage daily operations at job site, to include:

  • Supervision of crew (5-8 employees) along with subcontractors
  • Lead daily job briefings and safety meetings
  • Understand and work in accordance with the overall project schedule
  • Oversee earthwork (access road, crane pad, final grading of site, etc.)
  • Ensure proper setup, safe operation, and inspection of equipment such as Forklift, Crane, Excavator, etc.
  • Proficient with basic survey equipment for bridge and site layout
  • Assembly, operation, and recordkeeping (tonnage) associated with piledriving
  • Work together with Project Manager daily to communicate production goals and quality specifications of work, discuss concerns that have surfaced (around people, resources and methods, material or equipment use, extra or out of scope work), and ideas to help team achieve project goals
  • Participate in planning resources and methods for bridge construction project
  • Accurately report crew work hours and complete daily production report
  • Monitor and manage crew productivity. Ensure ongoing efforts are made to improve productivity
  • Understand and follow company policies and procedures
  • Enforcing company safety policies and ensuring industry safety regulations are adhered to
  • Exercise proper care, maintenance, and operation of company equipment
  • Consult engineer approved plans and Job Portfolio to carry out and coordinate daily activities
  • Work in collaboration with all departments (Engineering, Operations, HR, Safety, etc.)
  • Support the safety culture by collaborating with the Safety Department
  • Monitor crew compliance with all DOT regulations (E-logs, truck inspection, fuel records, etc.)

Schedule/Travel

  • The position involves continuous travel/on-the-road from job to job throughout the United States in company vehicles with rapid advancement opportunities.
  • Crew schedules are 6 work weeks on, (with weekends) followed by a week off.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate a large range of power tools (pneumatic, electric, hydraulic)
  • Knowledgeable in setup and inspection of various types of scaffolding
  • 3-5 years of construction and pile driving experience
  • Experience reading engineer approved plans and specifications
  • Supervisory experience directing and organizing work crew
  • Basic computer/electronics knowledge to support daily use of smartphones, laptops, etc. for completing reports and communicating
  • Proven experience with and willingness to focus on safety policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work as a team to jointly carry out assigned tasks
  • Current Driver’s License with a favorable driving record (Class A CDL preferred)
  • Experience with and ability to work at heights
  • Ability to gain eRailSafe clearance
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Welding and heavy equipment operation experience is a plus

Physical Demands

  • This position involves heavy lifting of up to 70 pounds; long hours of standing, walking, and climbing on remote jobsites; detailed work with hands and fingers using machinery and controls; grabbing, reaching, and push/pull tasks; balancing, sometimes while stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Jobsites can be noisy with sounds of machinery and moving trains so raised voices may need to be used to hear.
  • Ability to read and write are required as the position involves completion of information and forms.

Work Environment

  • This position involves routine exposure to outside weather conditions and involves working around moving mechanical parts with vibration. Work is performed at heights of up to 300'.
  • Occasional work around fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals as well as sources of electricity
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
