What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grapple Operator position at Koppers Inc.?
Job Responsibilities Complies with all plant administrative rules. Complies with all applicable operating procedures. Obeys the plant safety rules. Operates Grapple equipment for tie stacking process. Position stringers or stacking strips on stacks. As required serves as crewman to loader or lift truck operators. Signals equipment operators to deposit material in designated areas, if necessary. Straightens bay mishaps. Operates conveyer systems used in conjunction with tie stacking process equipment. As required assists in performing preventive maintenance. Performs ground and building maintenance. Collects and disposes of yard waste material. Performs general yard maintenance. Complies with all SH&E regulations and corporate and plant SH&E policies and procedures. Promptly and properly reports all incidents, injuries, damages, spills and/or releases. Promptly reports and, if possible, corrects all unsafe acts and/or conditions Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) required by the applicable PPE hazard assessments (including restricted use pesticide PPE requirements). Completes all SH&E inspections assigned by management. Performs required housekeeping activities. Works safely with and around hazardous materials/hazardous waste, if necessary. Requirements & Qualifications Pass preemployment medical screening. Qualified as a powered industrial equipment operator. Trained as authorized personnel and/or affected personnel for lockout/tagout. Demonstrates acceptable retention level for the required training elements. Trained to handle hazardous waste.
