Position Summary
Prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures. Follows hospital regulations and industry procedures to tend to patient during pre-operation procedures.
Responsibilities
Performs pre-operation preparations to the patient's skin, body and medical equipment
Assists in transporting patient to and from the operating room
Will be actively involved in process improvement projects
Works mainly in CVOR, but may float to Main Operating Room
Performs other related duties as assigned
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or 2 years' experience in an operating room as a Surgical Scrub Tech and/or LPN or military training required
2 years' experience, CVOR preferred
Surgical Technician Certification (CST) required
Operating room experience required
Competent in more than two specialty areas
Must be certified to perform CPR
BLS required
Working Conditions
Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position
Typical equipment used in a clinical job
Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
