As a Juvenile Detention Officer, you’ll do more than maintain order—you'll serve as a role model, coach, and advocate for positive change. From leading group activities and providing counseling, to ensuring safety and assisting with court processes, you'll be part of a team that plays a vital role in shaping futures and building safer communities.

- Competitive Pay: Starting at $23.83 to $25.96 per hour depending on experience. This position is eligible for .50/hour shift differential.

- Supervise and guide youth in a safe, secure, and respectful environment.
- Facilitate educational, recreational, and personal development activities.
- Collaborate with justice partners, families, and treatment providers.
- Respond to crises with professionalism and compassion.
- Monitor safety, conduct intake screenings, and maintain detailed documentation.
- Support youth through positive interactions, teaching social and life skills.
- Strong communicators with a calm, confident presence under pressure.
- Individuals who are committed to rehabilitation, not just detention.
- Team players who can also take initiative.
- People who value structure, integrity, and mutual respect.
- Experience working with at-risk or justice-involved youth is a plus.
- High school diploma required; degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Ability to complete POST-certified Juvenile Detention Officer training within one year.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks.
- CPR/First Aid and other safety certifications or ability to obtain.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Experience working with at-risk or justice-involved youth is a plus.
