Job Description: Account Manager

Classification: Full Time, Exempt

Work Location: Kool Logistics office in Swedesboro, NJ

Compensation: Base salary plus Bonus

Experience: Sales & Customer Service: 2 years (Preferred); McLeod Software (1 year (Preferred)

Position

The Account Manager is responsible to support the office to meet customer load and revenue targets by developing long-term relationships with carriers and customers, providing unmatched service in the transportation industry. Account Managers are the main point of contact between customers and carriers to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs. The Account Manager will also be responsible to increase customer and revenue growth targets and to meet monthly and quarterly quotas while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. The Account Manager will strive to keep our company competitive and innovative while exemplifying the Mission, Vision and Values of the company.

Essential Functions

  • Solicit potential and existing carriers to cover customer orders
  • Dispatching, Tracking and Tracing of shipments with carriers once loaded and relaying information to customers, to ensure issues are resolved timely and customers updated
  • Maintaining existing customer and carrier relationships with the goal of growing the volume of business with key customers and carriers
  • Customer recruitment, development and management
  • Carrier sourcing, recruitment, development and management
  • Operate as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to customers assigned
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with account contacts
  • Identify and grow opportunities and collaborate with sales teams to ensure growth as budgeted
  • Prospect new customers and carriers
  • Have competent understanding of how transportation systems operate, including order process, updates, and claim management
  • Support of A/R functions to ensure timely payment of service
  • Achieve budgeted targets for cases/loads and profit by assigned customers
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and expectations through timely and frequent communication
  • Present new items/services to customers at least monthly
  • Ensure contract exceptions are followed up with customer. Report non-complying contract customers to Operations Manager
  • Visit assigned customers as necessary to solicit sales opportunities and perform annual business reviews for larger customers
  • Communicate to Operations Manager as needed to update situations of concerns or to ask questions regarding an unknown area of responsibility
  • Have competent understanding of how various company software operates, with knowledge of the order process and reporting options
  • Communicate with sales team within division and outside to collaborate for opportunities

  • Some travel required
  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and present information to management, employees, corporate personnel, and vendors/suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical, problem resolution, negotiating and project management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet established and changing deadlines.
  • Bilingual, Spanish a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
