Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Upholstery Technician / Cushion Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various tasks and be proficient in using a variety of tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Fit, install, and secure material on frames, using hand tools, power tools, glue, cement, or staples.
- Mount materials or workpieces onto production equipment.
- Align parts or workpieces to ensure proper assembly.
- Read work orders, and apply knowledge and experience with materials to determine types and amounts of materials with also creating patterns required to cover workpieces.
- Read work orders or other instructions to determine product specifications or materials requirements.
- Make , restore , and install custom upholstery with an extensive detail to the Marine industry , using hand tools , proficient at using machinery and knowledge of fabrics , pattern creation and upholstery methods.
- Recover and installation of a variety of furniture , marine and golf cart upholstery.
- Creating patterns to cut , attach fasteners, grommets, buttons, buckles, ornamental trim, and other accessories to covers or frames, using hand tools.
- Remove covering, webbing, padding, or any defective material from workpieces, using hand tools such as hammers and tack pullers.
- Utilize hand tools , table saw and panel saw effectively to complete projects
Experience
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Marine grade vinyl installation
- Experience with heavy equipment operation not limited to table & Panel Saw
- Experience in pattern making
- Ability to lift a minimum of 70lbs
- Competence in using hand tools
- Previous experience in Marine industry upholstery projects
- Familiarity with a wide range of materials and techniques for installation
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
