Pharmacy Technician II – Sterile Compounding
Summary of Position:
Status: Temp to Hire
Hours: 9:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday
Salary Range: $25 to $28 per hour
Location: Long Beach, CA
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of sterile products. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering medications and managing inventory of drugs and related products. All tasks are performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
This is a Temp-to-Hire position; the selected candidate will undergo background and drug testing through a temp agency prior to the start date.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Compounding Responsibilities:
- Utilize aseptic techniques in the preparation of all sterile products, including doing sterile garments and personal protective equipment.
- Participate in cleaning of aseptic preparation areas.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and generate compounding documents.
- Accurately and aseptically compound sterile preparations into final container closure.
- Properly use compounding equipment such as balances and measuring devices.
- Maintain compliance with quarterly training and validation requirements while keeping current with policy and procedure updates
- Maintain awareness of responsibilities under state and national laws, regulations, and standards related to pharmacy compounding.

- Report to work promptly as scheduled without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
- Effectively multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, demonstrating professionalism and maintaining confidentiality.
