Chart Retrieval Specialist

Job description: The Chart Retrieval Specialist is responsible for retrieving medical records (both paper and electronic forms) from various healthcare facilities on behalf of health plans and other clients for retrospective and prospective reviews. We are looking for energetic self-starters with problem-solving skills, computer literacy, and the ability to quickly learn various software applications to retrieve medical record information electronically or through scanning from Provider offices and facilities.

Computer Skills

• Know how to download/upload files and store them in an organized file
• Ability to transfer files from software to a desktop folder
• Know how to copy and paste files, i.e., transfer files to a flash drive
• Document imaging or scanning experience is a plus

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED
• Very close attention to detail, including accuracy and efficiency
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills such as diplomacy, patience, and politeness
• Change direction and re-prioritize in response to changing work situations
• Prioritize conflicting needs; handle tasks and requests expeditiously and proactively
• Excellent time-management skills, including the ability to balance multiple (and sometimes competing) priorities
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
• Excellent computer skills
• A valid driver’s license and insurance/liability policy in the employee's name are mandatory in applicable cities/states when a motor vehicle is necessary for the position. Cities and states: this may not apply to San Francisco, New York, or Washington, D.C. Management will notify such employees when applicable.
• Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm: Your schedule could include working four or more consecutive days, depending on the project
• Reliable and secure internet with the ability to download 50 Mbps and upload 5 Mbps
• Basic navigational knowledge of some electronic medical record applications, such as; but not limited to Epic, Allscripts, e-Clinical Works, and Nextgen, is a plus
• Document Imaging or Scanning experience is a plus

Here are the physical requirements for performing the Chart Retrieval Specialist role:

• Lift and carry up to 30 pounds at any given time safely and efficiently without putting

Your back and other muscles are at risk

• The ability to use telephone or headset equipment in two-way communication
