Konnect Agency is seeking a full-time PR Director with a minimum of 7 years of professional PR experience working with food & beverage, franchise and lifestyle consumer clients.


The Account Director is a senior client lead responsible for driving strategic communications programs, ensuring high-quality execution, and managing account teams to deliver outstanding results. This role oversees multiple clients or major accounts, guides PR strategy and messaging, grows client relationships, and supports the agency’s business development goals. The Account Director is both a strategic thinker and hands-on practitioner, with strong leadership, communication, and business acumen.



Key Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary strategic advisor to clients, providing counsel on communications, media strategy, reputation management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Develop and oversee integrated PR strategies, messaging frameworks, and annual/quarterly plans.
  • Maintain strong client relationships; anticipate needs, identify opportunities, and ensure overall client satisfaction.
  • Guide clients through complex communications challenges, and sensitive issues.


Media Relations & Campaign Execution

  • Shape and drive earned media strategies across print, digital, and broadcast channels.
  • Utilize already established strong relationships with top-tier journalists, editors, analysts, influencers, etc. to the benefit of all accounts when needed, and help account team leads develop equally strong media relationships
  • Oversee approval of press materials (press releases, pitches, Q&As, backgrounders, thought leadership content).
  • Ensure flawless execution of campaigns, launches, events, and speaking opportunities.


Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor account teams; provide clear guidance, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Assign tasks and manage workload distribution to ensure productivity and quality.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture.


Account & Financial Management

  • Manage account budgets, forecasting, and profitability (e.g. Time Sheets)
  • Ensure efficient resource planning and utilization across accounts.
  • Oversee reporting, analytics, KPIs, and measurement frameworks against client goals.


Business Development

  • Support new business activity, including pitch development, proposal writing, and presentations.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, upselling, and cross-selling agency services.


Skills & Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of PR or communications experience, ideally within an agency environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading PR campaigns and managing major accounts.
  • Strong understanding of media landscapes and current industry trends.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in mentoring and leading teams.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Ability to manage complex, fast-paced workload with shifting priorities.
  • Experience handling crisis communications is a strong advantage.
