Desktop Support Trainee
Location: Columbus, OH (On-site)
Schedule: Full-time, with some flexibility in hours
About the Role
KMG is looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to join our IT department as a Desktop Support Trainee. This is a hands-on learning opportunity for someone interested in pursuing a career in Information Technology. No prior IT experience is required — if you bring motivation, curiosity, and a willingness to learn, we’ll teach you everything else.
You’ll work directly with our IT Director and support team on day-to-day technology operations including computer setup and troubleshooting, user support, and network maintenance. Over time, you’ll gain experience with servers, Microsoft 365, backups, and enterprise systems — building the foundation for a long-term IT career.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with desktop setup, configuration, and troubleshooting (Windows-based systems)
- Learn to manage user accounts, file access, and network shares
- Support helpdesk requests, both in-person and through our internal ticketing system
- Document processes and procedures as you learn them
- Help maintain and organize IT inventory (computers, peripherals, and parts)
- Work with senior IT staff to learn system administration and backup management

Compensation
Pay is based on skill level and experience. We’re open to entry-level applicants and will train the right person.
