Engineering Project Manager
North St. Paul, MN (Hybrid) | Direct Hire | $105,000–$115,000
Konik is partnering with a well-established, employee-owned manufacturer specializing in precision-engineered products. This organization supports a diverse global customer base and is known for its strong engineering culture, long-tenured workforce, and investment in innovation and continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of engineering, customer engagement, and program leadership, driving products from concept through commercialization while leading cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional engineering programs from concept through production and commercialization
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to solve technical challenges and integrate new technologies
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Partner directly with customers to define product requirements, schedules, and deliverables
- Support product strategy, business cases, and roadmap development
- Work with sales and marketing teams to identify opportunities and strengthen market position
- Ensure projects align with internal processes, quality standards, and engineering best practices
- Support development and implementation of engineering procedures and standards
- Drive continuous improvement across engineering and program execution
- Approximately 20% travel, including occasional international travel
- Highly collaborative environment with strong engineering and product development focus
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline) or equivalent experience
- 6 years of engineering experience, including product development
- 3 years of experience managing engineering projects or programs
- Experience working directly with customers on technical product development
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with project management tools, ERP systems, and cross-functional coordination
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced engineering degree
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle or similar)
- Six Sigma or continuous improvement certifications
- Experience in regulated or ISO-certified manufacturing environments
- Formal project management certification
