Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with engineers, contractors, distributors, and end users to support product specification and sales
- Develop new business opportunities through outreach, networking, and territory development
- Conduct technical presentations and trainings to drive product awareness and adoption
- Collaborate with customers to understand system requirements and recommend tailored solutions
- Support project pursuits from initial engagement through proposal, negotiation, and close
- Work closely with internal team members to execute regional sales strategies
- Manage and grow a defined territory across the Midwest
- Travel to customer sites as needed (approximately 20–30%)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 2 years of experience in electrical, technical sales, or related industry (entry-level engineers with strong interest in sales also considered)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams and specifications
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Self-starter mindset with strong organizational and time management skills
- Interest in building a long-term career in technical sales
- Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, NetSuite, Oracle, or similar) preferred
- 100% on-site initially; transitions to a mix of office and client-facing time once established
- Structured training and ramp-up period (approximately 18–24 months to full productivity)
- Highly technical sales environment requiring strong product knowledge and continuous learning
- Territory includes Minnesota, Dakotas, and Western Wisconsin
- Mix of relationship management, project-based sales, and new business development
- Opportunity to earn a company vehicle once established in the role
- Base salary: $75,000–$125,000 depending on experience
