Koniag Advisory Business Solutions is seeking a Computer Operator V with a focus on customer support to join our team supporting the Oklahoma City Area Office and facilities throughout the Oklahoma City Area. This position plays a crucial role in providing advanced technical operations support for agency computer systems, servers, applications, and associated IT infrastructure. You provide advanced technical operations support for enterprise, clinical, administrative, and networked information systems in support of the Indian Health Service mission. This position is responsible for monitoring, controlling, and maintaining computer systems and peripheral equipment; ensuring scheduled production processing is completed accurately and on time; identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system and operations issues; and supporting continuity of operations for mission-critical systems that enable patient care and administrative functions.
You serve as a senior-level operator and technical resource, exercising sound independent judgment in managing system workloads, responding to alerts and outages, coordinating corrective actions, and documenting operational status. In this role, you may also provide guidance to junior operators and interface with users, technical support staff, telecommunications personnel, cybersecurity staff, and Government leadership to ensure reliable and secure IT operations. This position starts Nov 16, 2026.
The Computer Operator V resolves a variety of technically challenging and difficult operating problems (e.g. making unusual equipment connections and rarely use equipment and channel configurations to direct processing through or around problems and equipment, circuits, or channels, or reviewing test run requirements and developing unusual system configurations that will allow test programs to process without interfering with ongoing job requirements ). In response to computer output instructions and error conditions to avoid loss of information or to conserve computer time, the operator deviates from standard procedures. Such actions may materially alter the computer units production plans.
This operator may spend considerable time away from the control station providing technical assistance to lower-level operators and assisting programmers, system analyst, and subject matter specialists with resolution of problems.

- Provide support for system operations, application processing failures, and performance interruptions.
- Interface with system administrators and application support teams to coordinate resolution of incidents.
- Monitor performance and availability of Mainframe, server, and Network systems.
- Execute and oversee batch processing, job scheduling, workload automation, and system backups.
- Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues, escalating as necessary.
- Generate operational, performance, and incident reports as required.
- Update standard operating procedures s o p s) and contribute to process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with Federal cyber security requirements and agency specific directives.
- Support auditing, logging, incident response, and vulnerability mitigation activities.
- Safeguard sensitive system data and maintain Access Control requirements.
- Assist with configuration, deployment, and maintenance of computing equipment, operating systems, and monitoring tools.
- Perform routine system health checks and scheduled maintenance.
- Maintain and update operational procedures.
Required Certifications:
- CompTIA A
- CompTIA Network OR equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience monitoring and operating enterprise or multi-user computer systems in a production environment.
- Experience troubleshooting system failures, console errors, job interruptions, peripheral device issues, and communications problems.
- Experience maintaining operational documentation, logs, and incident records.
- Ability to work independently in a structured, security-sensitive environment with limited supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize workload, respond to urgent issues, and maintain attention to detail in a mission-critical environment.
- Experience supporting healthcare IT environments, hospital systems, or government information systems.
- Experience working in a Federal agency, tribal healthcare environment, or Indian Health Service setting.
- Familiarity with server operations, network monitoring tools, backup systems, print management, and batch processing.
- Experience supporting electronic health record environments, clinical systems, or administrative systems.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in computer operations, systems operations, IT support, network operations, or related technical environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- Coursework or certification training in:
- Operating systems (Windows desktop/server)
- Networking fundamentals
- Cybersecurity basics
- Knowledge of computer operating procedures, production control, systems monitoring, and incident response practices.
- Knowledge of hardware, software, operating systems, peripheral devices, and networked computing environments.
- Ability to interpret technical messages, logs, job failures, and console output and determine appropriate corrective action.
- Ability to identify, isolate, and troubleshoot operational disruptions in a timely and effective manner.
- Ability to follow written procedures and security protocols with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive information, including patient and organizational data.
- Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to train or assist junior staff and contribute to a team-based support environment.
- Work is typically performed in an office, data processing, or healthcare support environment.
- Position may require prolonged sitting, standing, use of computer equipment, and operation of office and IT devices.
