Koniag Data Solutions (KDS) is seeking an experienced Tier 2 System Administrator to provide advanced technical support and system maintenance for our federal government clients. As a subsidiary of Koniag Government Services, we combine technical expertise with our Alaska Native Corporation values to deliver superior IT solutions. This position requires an active Secret clearance.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Resolve escalated technical issues from Tier 1 support
Perform advanced system troubleshooting
Manage and maintain server infrastructure
Implement security controls
Configure and optimize system performance
Manage Active Directory and Group Policy
Perform complex system modifications
Support disaster recovery operations
Maintain system documentation
Implement system patches and updates
Configure and manage backup solutions
Provide after-hours support as needed
Mentor Tier 1 support staff
Manage system access and permissions
Coordinate with vendors for technical support
Requirements:
7 years of system administration experience
Secret security clearance
Experience with enterprise systems
Advanced troubleshooting experience
Advanced Windows Server administration
Strong Active Directory management skills
Experience with Linux systems
Knowledge of virtualization platforms
Advanced networking knowledge
Experience with system security controls
Strong problem-solving abilities
Expertise in backup and recovery
Knowledge of automation tools
Strong documentation skills
Experience with monitoring systems
Understanding of change management
Excellent communication abilities
Advanced scripting capabilities
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Technical certifications (MCSE, RHCE, VCP)
Experience with cloud platforms
Knowledge of DevOps practices
Familiarity with classified systems
Experience with system hardening
Understanding of ITIL processes
Knowledge of compliance requirements
Experience with high-availability systems
Background in performance tuning
Previous military or government service
Experience with PKI infrastructure
Knowledge of federal security standards
Familiarity with containerization
Understanding of storage technologies
Experience with configuration management
Knowledge of incident response
Expertise in system automation
