What are the responsibilities and job description for the Substitute Teacher position at Kona Pacific Public Charter School?
We are seeking an experienced, reliable substitute teacher to join our team of educators. In this position, you will work in the absence of our regular teachers, aiding students in their daily tasks and helping ensure the understanding of the subject matter being covered. You should have some classroom teaching experience and possess the skills needed to cover daily instruction and run the classroom environment in an orderly fashion.
Substitute Teacher Duties and Responsibilities
· Use materials provided to attain lesson goals
· Direct the classroom, accomplishing curriculum objectives and goals outlined in the lesson plans
· Take attendance according to the procedures of the school, keep classroom and work orderly, and maintain normal classroom rhythms
· Comply with all procedures, guidelines, and policies of the school at all times
· Maintain a professional attitude in all manner of conduct with students, faculty, and parents, including a commitment to confidentiality
Substitute Teacher Requirements and Qualifications
· High school diploma required; college degree preferred
· Certificate in teaching is a plus
· Detail oriented and able to follow written and/or oral instructions
· Able to communicate effectively with other personnel and faculty
· Able to cultivate relationships with pupils in a brief time period
· Confidence and capability in giving instruction in the absence of the regular teacher
This is a temporary on call position paid at a daily rate without benefits.
