We’re looking for a hands on, driven Head Chef to take ownership of the kitchen at Kona Inn Restaurant and help rebuild, refine, and elevate the culinary program.
This is a leadership role for someone who thrives on structure, accountability, and creating systems not just maintaining them.
The Opportunity
Kona Inn Restaurant is entering a new phase. We are seeking a Chef who can step in, bring organization to the kitchen, develop a strong team, and establish consistent standards in a high visibility, oceanfront location.

What You’ll Do
- Take full ownership of kitchen operations and daily execution
- Build structure: systems, prep standards, station organization, and workflow
- Hire, train, and develop a reliable kitchen team
- Create and refine menus focused on fresh, local, island-inspired cuisine
- Control food cost, labor, and ordering processes
- Lead by example during service and set the tone for professionalism
What We’re Looking For
- Strong leadership experience as a Head Chef or high-level Sous Chef
- Proven ability to organize and build kitchen systems
- Hands-on mentality—this is not a clipboard-only role
- Solid understanding of food/labor cost and operational discipline
- Ability to perform under pressure and solve problems quickly
