Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to support and lead HR

operations across Hawaii Restaurant Group on the Big Island. This role will be responsible for

developing and executing HR strategies that align with business goals, enhance employee

engagement, and ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.

The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal skills, hands-on HR experience in hospitality or

multi-unit environments, and a deep understanding of workforce dynamics in Hawaii.

Key Responsibilities

 Oversee full-cycle HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, training,

performance management, and offboarding

 Partner with leadership to develop workforce planning strategies across multiple

restaurant locations

 Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations

 Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary

processes

 Develop and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and standard operating

procedures

 Lead benefits administration, compensation planning, and payroll coordination

 Support leadership development and training initiatives for managers and staff

 Monitor and improve employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture

 Maintain accurate HR records and reporting systems

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or

equivalent experience)

 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in hospitality or multi-unit operations

 Strong knowledge of Hawaii labor laws and HR best practices

 Proven ability to manage employee relations and handle sensitive matters with discretion

 Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills

 HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred
