What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Intern position at KOMPAN Inc Americas?
We are seeking a detail-oriented HR Student Intern to join our Human Resources department.
This is an in-office, part-time role (20 hours/week) ideal for a current HR, business, or related field student looking for hands-on experience in HR operations, onboarding, and data management.
The intern will support administrative and backend HR tasks, assist with new hire onboarding, handle background check processing, and help maintain accurate HR data and employee records.

In collaboration with our global headquarters in Denmark, KOMPAN designs, manufactures, and installs more than 1,000 sites a month across 90 different countries. Our North American headquarters, located in Austin, Texas, supports field sales around the U.S. and Canada.

Key Responsibilities
Onboarding & Compliance
- Support the full onboarding process for new hires, including documentation, system setup, and first‑day readiness.
- Initiate, track, and follow up on background checks and verification processes.
- Review and collect onboarding documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in preparing weekly onboarding schedules and coordinating with hiring managers.
Training & New Hire Orientation Support
- Assist in preparing materials for New Hire Orientation sessions.
- Support the creation and updating of training presentations, checklists, and learning guides.
- Help coordinate logistics for training sessions, including room setup, attendance tracking, and materials distribution.
- Partner with HR team members to identify opportunities to enhance training content and improve the overall new hire experience.
HR Data Entry & Administrative Support
- Perform accurate data entry within the HRIS and other HR systems.
- Maintain up-to-date, organized digital employee files.
- Support reporting activities, audits, and routine HR tracking needs.
- Provide general administrative support across all HR functions.
HR Project Assistance
- Assist with ongoing HR initiatives and process improvement efforts.
- Conduct research, prepare summaries, and support project documentation.
- Contribute to ad hoc HR tasks as needed to support the department.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current student pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- Must be available to work onsite in Austin, TX (20 hours/week)
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
