As our experiential division expands, we are looking for a Director of Experiential to lead the development, execution, and growth of our experiential offering.
Role Overview
The Director of Experiential will lead the strategy, creative direction, and execution of all experiential projects — from launch events and pop-ups to stunts, interactive experiences, and social-first activations.
This role is both strategic and hands-on, ideal for someone who can own the creative vision while managing production from concept through execution. You will work closely with production, creative, influencer, and strategy teams to deliver experiences that resonate culturally, generate compelling content, and drive business impact for our clients.
With Komodo’s size and agility, you’ll have the opportunity to shape the experiential division, build processes, mentor talent, and play a pivotal role in scaling a core part of the agency.
Key Responsibilities
Creative & Strategic Leadership
- Lead concept development for all experiential briefs, from ideation to final decks.
- Build creative frameworks, experience journeys, and physical/digital storytelling.
- Ensure all experiential ideas ladder up to brand strategy and cultural insight.
- Stay on top of cultural trends, creator behaviours, and experiential innovation.
Client Ownership & Pitching
- Act as the lead experiential expert in client meetings and pitches.
- Present creative work with clarity, confidence, and strategic rationale.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across projects.
Production & Execution Management
- Oversee production planning, budgeting, timelines, and vendor management.
- Ensure creative concepts are feasible while maintaining creative integrity.
- Partner closely with fabrication, AV, staging, and logistics vendors.
- Lead pre-production, walkthroughs, and onsite execution, ensuring flawless delivery.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with social, influencer, and content teams to integrate digital physical activations.
- Ensure all experiences are built for content capture and amplification.
- Collaborate with creative and design teams on visuals, layouts, set design, and branding.
Team Leadership
- Mentor experiential staff and help shape the future structure of the division.
- Establish processes, best practices, and operational excellence within the experiential team.
Skills & Experience Required
- 6 years experience in experiential, events, brand activations, or creative agencies.
- Strong portfolio showcasing experiential work across industries (lifestyle, fashion, beauty, CPG, etc.).
- Proven ability to take ideas from concept → pitch → production → execution.
- Experience managing budgets, timelines, and vendors.
- Strong deck-building, storytelling, and creative presentation skills.
- Hands-on experience with the logistical and technical aspects of events.
- Ability to operate in a fast-moving, high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small but expanding team.
