This Opportunity
The Strategic Sourcing Manager develops and executes sourcing strategies that support Komline’s growth, cost, and operational resilience objectives. The Strategic Sourcing Manager is responsible for strategic sourcing and supplier development for direct materials and components used across Komline’s manufacturing and project-based operations. Additionally, the Strategic Sourcing Manager partners closely with engineering, procurement, operations, and quality teams to select, develop, and manage suppliers capable of meeting technical, capacity, and delivery requirements.
This position is not an indirect sourcing or services procurement role. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will have deep experience sourcing manufactured components, fabricated parts, and industrial materials within a production-driven environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for direct materials, components, and fabricated parts
- Lead RFQs, supplier evaluations, and cost analyses to support new programs, projects, and product lines
- Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers aligned with quality, capacity, and lead-time requirements
- Partner with engineering on make/buy decisions, design-for-cost initiatives, and material substitutions
- Negotiate long-term agreements, pricing structures, and supply commitments with key suppliers
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through should-cost analysis, supplier consolidation, and value engineering
- Monitor supplier market trends, risks, and capacity constraints
- Collaborate with Procurement and Operations teams to ensure sourcing strategies support execution and production needs
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier performance and supply chain resilience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
- 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience sourcing direct materials, fabricated components, or industrial equipment
- Strong negotiation, cost modeling, and supplier development experience
- Experience partnering with engineering and operations teams
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; Microsoft D365 experience preferred
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
