The Patient Care Technician position on the Nursing Resource Pool (NRP) Unit at MD Anderson Cancer Center provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse, and directly impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

Ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and either one year of recent experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant or a CNA certification. This unit is current hiring for all shifts, dayshift, evening shift and nightshift, with rotating weekends and holidays.

The inpatient and outpatient Nursing Resource Pool serves the acute care needs of medical, surgical and hematological oncology patients from pediatric to adult and serves as the float pool to meet daily acute care staffing needs.

Hourly Breakdown Of Salary Range

Minimum $18.27 - Midpoint $22.84 - Maximum $27.40

Essential Job Functions: Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.

  • Preferred: CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant Upon Hire

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
