Key Job Responsibilities
- Verify material quality and quantity against vendor and company documentation.
- Receive, count, sort, audit, and store materials in designated locations using business management systems.
- Pick and deliver materials based on pick tickets, ensuring accuracy in part numbers and quantities.
- Pack materials according to specifications using appropriate packing materials and methods.
- Perform outside crating for oversized items and construct crates, boxes, or skids when needed.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and shrink wrap machines safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and follow all safety procedures.
- Expedite material flow and load trucks as needed.
- Ability to read and follow packing instructions and specification sheets.
- Experience with material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, cranes).
- Familiarity with business operating systems and handheld scanners.
- Basic knowledge of shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing lists).
- Comfortable working with various materials including machine parts, weldments, and raw materials.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to report discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently and follow established procedures.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and package materials safely.
