What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Warehouse Lead position at Komar Distribution Services?
Primary Objective:
Leads a small unit or team on the warehouse floor driving customer requirements and service and/or acts as a senior technical expert on a customer specific warehouse work process.
Principle Duties and End Results
- Advises workers on the proper utilization of systems and procedures.
- Advises workers on the specific requirements of the customer.
- Ensures a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
- Must have Ecommerce knowledge and background
- Advises workers on the use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock.
- Advises workers on items received, stored, and shipped
- Prepares, monitors, and confirms accuracy of customer orders.
- Assists workers with daily activities, as needed.
- Communicates job expectations, processes, procedures and requirements to new workers. Leads the training of new warehouse workers.
- Coordinates routine customer projects, as assigned.
- Participates in staff meetings and conducts team meetings, as needed.
- Produces reports with Microsoft Word, and Excel, if required.
- Participates in physical inventory counts, as needed.
- Reviews measurements and results and suggests process improvements.
- Receives general employee inquiries; works with management to address, as needed.
- Provides input on warehouse process flow and layouts, as management adapts to seasonal changes.
- Oversees workflow to maintain productivity to the established standard (or to maintain a high level of efficiency and effectiveness).
Job Requirements
- One-year certify operator of MHE and 3 years of warehouse experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Bilingual – English/Spanish.
- Able to work cooperatively in a team environment.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally to a customer, supervisor, manager, and employee is required.
- Forklift certification, knowledge of OSHA Safety procedures, and leadership skills.
- Experience with and the ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, late nights and or weekends.
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
