We are looking for a visionary to elevate our Fine Arts program.
- Focus: 2D mediums and 3D sculpture (non-pottery).
- Technical Instruction: Candidates should be proficient in teaching perspective (one-point, foreshortening), color theory, and portraiture.
- Vision: Build a robust department that supports talented artists in developing competitive portfolios for top-tier collegiate programs, including the development of AP Art and Design courses.
Lead our growing tech department and inspire students to become creators in a digital landscape.
- Courses: 3D Printing & Design (CAD/additive manufacturing), Mobile CSP, AP Computer Science A (Java), Entrepreneurship, and Web Design
- Lab Management: Maintain the school’s 3D printing lab and stay current with evolving tech trends.
- Biology: Lead inquiry-based exploration in genetics, ecology, and cellular biology using data-driven instruction and lab work.
- Physical Science: Engage students in the fundamental principles of the physical world through hands-on, scaffolded learning.
- Lead students toward linguistic proficiency and cultural appreciation through immersive and engaging world language instruction.
What We Look For (Common Requirements)
- Certification: Valid Connecticut Department of Education Certification in the relevant subject area (e.g., Art 042, Biology 030, Tech Ed 047) or eligibility for a cross-endorsement/pending state approval.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in the subject area or Education required; Master’s in Teaching, Curriculum, or related field preferred.
- Instructional Excellence: A growth mindset and the ability to implement evidence-based, differentiated, and scaffolded instruction to meet neurodiverse learning needs.
- Commitment: A daily practice of Expressing Care, Challenging Growth, Providing Support, Sharing Power, and Expanding Possibilities for all students.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM to 3:00 PM.
- Structure: 4x4 block schedule with daily 84-minute periods.
- 10-month contracts paid over 12 months
