We have the unique opportunity to have a graphic designer work for us, to work for the National Park System.

The Role:

  • Design Mastery: Craft materials for the National Park System that resonate with its audience. This includes but is not limited to postcards, park maps, digital campaigns, and comprehensive planning documents.
  • Collaborative Spirit: Be an integral part of our team, and liaise seamlessly with the dynamic crew at the Denver Service Center. Together, under Kokopelli's guiding hand, we aim to elevate NPS's branding.
  • Brand Ambassador: Wear the badge of NPS with pride. Immerse in, internalize, and impeccably present the ethos and standards of NPS through your designs.

Qualifications:

  • Proven Track Record: A robust portfolio that tells tales of diverse design journeys. Prior engagements with federal agencies will make your application stand out.
  • 508 Compliance Wizardry: A detailed understanding and application of 508 compliance, evident in your portfolio, is a non-negotiable.
  • Precision Enthusiast: Government gigs demand meticulousness. The rulebook is thick and the processes intricate. If sifting through details and stringent adherence to guidelines is in your DNA, step right in.

Key Information:

  • Compensation: $70,000, sweetened with benefits.
  • Commitment: This is a one year position. If they like you, they have the option to exceed it two more years. It could blossom into more and/or you could join us at our creative agency. Lots of options.
  • Location: You'll be required to work the classic Monday - Friday at the Denver Federal Center in Lakewood, Colorado. Assume there is no hybrid working.

Further Requirements:

  • Detailed understanding of following brand guidelines.
  • Superior skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Communicate like a pro – both in writing and speech.
  • Juggle multiple projects, prioritize, and never miss a beat (or deadline).
  • Stick to timelines like glue and adhere to structured reporting mechanisms.
  • Be open to receiving feedback, iterating, and refining your designs.
  • A sound knowledge of print production processes and standards is a boon.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $70,000.00 per year
