What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receptionist/Office Assistant position at Koinonia Primary Care?
The Office Services Specialist interacts with patients, health care providers and other staff to enable patients to receive the care they need from this office and other health care providers. S/he works in support of Koinonia Primary Care’s mission to provide the highest quality of care in Jesus’ name.
Duties & responsibilities
- Answer phones, take phone messages and relay them to the appropriate person
- Schedule, cancel and remind patients about appointments
- Collect patient information and update it in the computer
- Receive faxes and ensure they are entered into the appropriate patient’s chart
- Assist patients with scheduling referral appointment and appropriate transportation
- Provide administrative support to health care providers as requested
- Ensure patient waiting room is neat and in good order
- Participate in weekly staff meetings
- Special project as assigned
- Other duties as assigned
The candidate should:
- Possess at least a high school diploma, some college preferred
- Know how to type and have experience using computers and the ability to learn new software packages, including clinical software
- Have the ability to provide high-quality customer service in a fast-paced office environment
- Be team oriented and flexible
- Demonstrate good judgment and independent decision making
- Have at least 1 year of customer service experience, medial receptionist experience strongly preferred.
The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 8:45-5:15.
