Maintenance Team Assistant Position OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time Facilities Team Member to help maintain our church facility and support our ministry through excellent facility management. This role combines maintenance, custodial duties, and event setup to ensure our church provides a welcoming, clean, and functional environment for worship, fellowship, and community activities.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & RepairsPerform routine maintenance tasks including minor plumbing and electricalMaintain exterior and interior lighting systemsConduct regular inspections of building systems and equipmentHandle basic carpentry and painting projectsMonitor and maintain heating, cooling, and ventilation systemsEnsure proper functioning of audio/visual equipment in meeting spacesMaintain outdoor grounds including landscaping and maintaining that equipment Custodial ServicesClean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, and common areasVacuum carpets and mop hard surface floors throughout the facilityEmpty trash receptacles and maintain waste management systemsClean windows, mirrors, and glass surfacesDust furniture, fixtures, and equipmentMaintain supply inventory and communicate needs to supervisorDeep clean sanctuary and fellowship areas on a rotating scheduleEvent Setup & SupportSet up chairs, tables, and equipment for worship services and special eventsArrange room configurations based on event requirementsEnsure proper lighting, temperature, and audio/visual setup for gatheringsCoordinate with ministry leaders to understand setup needsBreak down and store equipment after eventsPrepare spaces for weddings, funerals, and community functionsAssist with moving furniture and equipment as neededQualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic knowledge of building maintenance and repairAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasksReliable transportation and punctual attendanceStrong attention to detail and quality standardsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent communication skills and positive attitudePreferredPrevious experience in facilities maintenance or custodial workBasic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance systemsExperience with power tools and maintenance equipmentFamiliarity with church operations and event setupFirst aid/CPR certificationWorking ConditionsPart-time position: 20-32 hours per weekFlexible schedule including some evenings and weekendsPhysical work involving standing, walking, lifting of 50 lbs, and climbingIndoor and outdoor work environmentsOccasional exposure to cleaning chemicals and maintenance materialsCompany DescriptionKoinonia Church is a christian church in Hanford California.
