Executive Housekeeper - Destination Kohler

Opportunity
Achieve consistent excellence in functional and guest service aspects of housekeeping, turndown, and public space janitorial operations for Lodging Operations at Destination Kohler. Current portfolio: The American Club, Carriage House, Inn on Woodlake, Riverbend, Luxury Cabins-Lake, Pond, Red Fox, Sandhill and Tomczyk. Total 549 bedrooms and all supporting public spaces.
Specific Responsibilities
Appearance and presentation of hotel guest rooms, facilities and public areas.
- Oversee and direct inspection procedures to ensure continuous high levels of
cleanliness and detail are being maintained. - Oversee and direct general cleaning procedures to ensure the housekeeping staff’s compliance with expected
standards for cleanliness and detail.
- Personally monitor and inspect public
areas, guest rooms and restaurants for cleanliness
on a random basis each day and regularly scheduled inspections with all internal guests.
- Monitor the handling of soiled and clean laundry product to ensure an acceptable finished product appearance and product life.
- Lead by example by assuming a supportive leadership style and assisting the Housekeeping team when necessary.
- Conduct regular inspection calibration
sessions with Exempt leaders and Coordinators on all shifts to be sure all leads are holding their team members accountable to the same criteria.
- Immediately communicate to senior leadership any gaps in quality of product; including wear and tear, off brand esthetics or staffing challenges that put guest
experience and our luxury standards at risk.
Departmental financial responsibilities and expense control
- Monitor payroll expense to ensure that
costs are within budgeted guidelines, are justified based on occupancy forecast, meeting departmental labor standards and achieve award goals.
- Monitor and control usage of cleaning and
guest supplies to curb waste or unauthorized use.
- Strive to use eco-friendly chemicals and products that meet Kohler standards and requirements
- Champion standardization of product across Lodging Operations when possible.
- Address and/or submit recommendations for continual improvement of expense management for the housekeeping and public areas at Destination Kohler lodging properties.
- Development and recommendation of annual
budgets for the housekeeping department at Destination Kohler.
- Ensure that proper allocations are being
met and business leaders are aware of any changes that are necessary.
Staff Supervision
- Direct and coach housekeeping leaders to maintain and improve upon staff cleaning procedures and cleanliness
standards.
- Direct general housekeeping staff to ensure housekeeping product standards are met.
- Coach Housekeeping leadership team through effective developmental one on one
meetings and updates. - Ensure that all housekeeping personnel
present themselves in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with hotel guests and fellow associates, while adhering to all
dress and uniform requirements.
- Direct the scheduling of housekeeping staff at Destination Kohler in line with Labor standards and Unifocus business
indicators.
- Maintain up-to-date accurate associate records.
- Oversee and/or initiate disciplinary actions to staff when performance or behavioral standards are not being met.
- Oversee the preparation of timely and thorough performance review for general housekeeping personnel.
- Prepare and submit for approval ACT’s to
address staffing needs or departmental structuring.
- Spend time on all shifts as needed to
maintain a positive relationship with second and third shift leadership and team members.
- Facilitate effective daily line ups,
covering daily messages, shift energizers and luxury standards.
Product/Service Innovation
- Submit service concept
recommendations and/or product innovations to the General Manager- TAC which would affect staff efficiency, hotel appearance and/or quality of service.
Assist in Project Management
- Alert and assist the General Manager– TAC & IOW in project identification and follow- through on all Capital projects.
- Liaison with Kohler AI&D and Kohler Hospitality Project Management when necessary and as
directed by General Manager – TAC &
IOW
Staff Training
- Oversee housekeeping and custodial training for staff according to Training Certification processes for each
location at Destination Kohler.
- Monitor the effectiveness of staff training and change program as necessary.
- Schedule and conduct department training
meetings to address new policies procedures and associate concerns.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and OSHA training standards. Take swift and decisive action when accidents occur to prevent repetition.
- Maintain a thorough SOP binder with all proper Housekeeping standards and processes.
- Regularly cover all emergency SOPs in staff line ups.
- Regularly attend staff line-ups/huddles at each location at Destination Kohler.
- Empower associates to surprise and delight
our guests.
Inventory & Audits
- Monitor on a monthly basis the inventory of all housekeeping supplies.
- Monitor on a quarterly basis the inventory
for all linen at Destination Kohler. Coordinate with current laundry vendor to ensure that all
linen is accounted for.
- Ensure accurate inventory documents are submitted to H&RE Accounting.
- Champion all recommendations made to the Hospitality Division through Corporate Audits. Assist General Manager – TAC
& IOW as directed with Corporate Auditing process and results.
Skills/Requirements
- Four-year degree in hotel
management or Business Management required.
- Must possess
the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational
leader, effective communicator, exceptional customer service skills, and ability to improve the bottom line.
- 4 years of total experience as Executive Housekeeper and/or Assistant Executive Housekeeper of a lodging facility at or above the Forbes Four-Star and AAA Four-Diamond caliber.
The salary range for this position is $81,050 - $102,400. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
