Duties
- Perform comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of HVAC systems, including refrigeration units, boilers, air conditioning systems, electrical components, and plumbing connections.
- Install new HVAC equipment and mechanical systems in residential settings following schematics and HVAC design specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance on HVAC/R equipment to ensure reliable operation and extend system lifespan.
- Diagnose electrical issues using tools such as ohmmeters and perform electrical diagnostics to identify faults accurately.
- Utilize hand tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical repair tools to complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly, answering questions professionally, and ensuring customer satisfaction during every interaction.
- Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all work performed for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
- Adhere to safety protocols including EPA regulations for refrigerants and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems.
Skills
- Proven experience as an HVAC service technician with a strong background in system repair and installation.
- Mechanical knowledge encompassing HVAC/R systems, boilers, and general mechanical systems repair.
- Skilled in equipment troubleshooting using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and field service techniques.
- Ability to perform electrical diagnostics accurately within complex electrical systems associated with HVAC equipment.
- Hands-on experience with welding techniques for mechanical repairs or modifications when necessary.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of refrigerants including EPA certification for handling refrigerants safely.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
