Job Description:
1. Metal Fabrication: Fabricate and assemble metal components, structures, and products according to engineering drawings and project requirements.
2. Welding: Perform various welding processes to join metal parts and materials effectively.
3. Pipe Threading: Thread, assemble, and install pipes, tubes, and fixtures, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
4. Material Handling: Safely handle and move metal materials, including cutting, bending, and shaping as needed, using saws and other equipment.
5. Quality Control: Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and project specifications.
6. Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering blueprints and drawings to execute fabrication accurately.
7. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding, fabrication, and cutting equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
8. Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
9. Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a welder and metal fabricator in a manufacturing or custom fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in MIG welding; experience with TIG welding is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, fabrication drawings, and technical specifications.
- Working knowledge of various metals, material thicknesses, and common fabrication processes.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, accurate metal components.
- Familiarity with shop equipment such as band saws, grinders, pipe threaders, and standard fabrication tools.
- Understanding of shop safety practices and OSHA-compliant procedures.
- Pipe welding experience or relevant welding certifications are a plus.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced shop environment.
