Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Journeyman position located in San Diego, CA. The Journeyman will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks including repairs, maintenance, restoration, and construction of both classic and modern boats. Other duties may include troubleshooting, using hand and power tools, interpreting technical manuals or blueprints, and assisting in collaborative team projects to meet client specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to top-notch craftsmanship.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in boat maintenance, repairs, and restoration
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and woodworking techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation
- Knowledge of engine systems, rigging, and marine hardware
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Teamwork and communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively
- Dedication to safety and adherence to safety protocols
- Previous experience in a boatyard, shipyard, or related industry is a plus
- Relevant certifications in marine technology or related fields preferred
