Kodo is seeking a creative and versatile social and video content creator to help bring our mission-driven brand to life. This video-focused role will collaborate closely with our marketing, product, sales, and education teams to create compelling and engaging content that inspires educators and elevates our message.


This role is perfect for a detail-oriented, masterful visual storyteller who understands the power of video to capture attention, spark curiosity, and communicate ideas. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, translating concepts into impactful campaigns across multiple channels.


Responsibilities include:


Social-First Content Creation, including but not limited to:

  • Conceptualize, shoot, and edit high-engagement short-form video (Reels, Shorts) natively on mobile devices.
  • Up to date with best social practices, platform-specific features, and mobile editing workflows (CapCut, Edits App from Meta) to ensure content feels organic and native.
  • Drive social media and video strategies to support brand awareness, engagement, and conversions
  • Actively engage with social media followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster a strong online community
  • Maintain social [content] calendar and ensure timely delivery of campaigns


Professional Video Production, including but not limited to:

  • Lead production for mid-to-long form digital content using professional mirrorless camera systems.
  • Manage technical aspects of production including multi-point lighting setups, camera operation, external audio recording (lavalier/boom), and color grading.
  • Produce videos from start to finish including ideation, scripting, and directing of on-camera talent to ensure high-quality and consistent content.


Brand Integrity and Alignment, including but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with marketing, design, and education teams to translate ideas into compelling videos
  • Collaborate with team to align social and video with broader campaigns
  • Ensure brand consistency and visual integrity across all projects
  • Source and edit music, sound effects, and voiceover as needed
  • Stay current with video trends, tools, and techniques
  • Organize and maintain assets


A successful candidate will be/have the following:

  • 5 years of experience in digital content production and video editing
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects) and Canva)
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles, typography, and storytelling through design
  • Experience editing long and short-form video content
  • Experience with motion graphics and animation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with creativity and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Portfolio showcasing meaningful campaigns through design and video work across a range of platforms
  • Are extraordinarily passionate about the company’s mission to enhance children’s learning through play
  • Are a creative storyteller who is passionate about creating inspiring, enlightening relevant content that helps your audience in meaningful ways.


You must have a recent portfolio to be considered.

Annual Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000
