In 2024, Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer. Kodiak is also leveraging its commercial self-driving software to develop, test and deploy autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense.
We are looking for experienced commercial drivers to join our Lancaster, TX operations to help us deploy our autonomous technology. Our Lancaster, TX Operations team is on the cutting edge of working with our partners to improve and integrate our technology in real world conditions.

In alignment with its business operations, Kodiak adheres to all relevant statutes, regulations, and administrative prerequisites. What You'll Do
- Safely operate autonomous-enabled test trucks, maintaining full situational awareness to ensure safety and test integrity.
- Complete detailed pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting vehicle and AV system readiness.
- Execute engineering test plans precisely as instructed, including defined maneuvers, routes, and repeatable scenarios.
- Monitor system and vehicle behavior during testing, providing real-time feedback and actionable observations to Test Operations and Engineering.
- Participate in shift briefings and debriefs to align on daily goals, system changes, and testing outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including inspection logs, operational notes, and test observations.
- Coordinate with Test Specialists, Remote Operators, and Operations Leads to ensure safe vehicle handoffs, clean transitions, and operational continuity.
- Uphold Kodiak's safety standards by following all PPE requirements, HOS rules, and test-site procedures.
- Support overall test-site readiness by ensuring vehicles, work areas, and equipment remain clean, organized, and mission-ready.
- Represent Kodiak professionally in all testing environments, reinforcing a safety-first mindset and disciplined driving execution.
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 3 years of recent, verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug test, MVR review, DOT physical, and a practical driving assessment.
- Light computer skills required; training provided.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in high-awareness roles (test driving, autonomous/ADAS validation, specialized transport) is a strong plus.
