Manufacturing Operations Supervisor – Sheet Metal Fabrication

Lead Manufacturing Operations with Kodiak Ls
Kodiak is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to oversee our sheet metal fabrication shop in Richmond, VA. This leadership role is responsible for supervising daily production, warehouse operations, and fabrication activities while driving safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
We're looking for a hands-on leader with experience in sheet metal manufacturing, Lean principles, ERP/MRP systems, and leading production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You'll Do
- Supervise daily sheet metal fabrication and warehouse operations
- Coordinate production schedules and manpower to meet deadlines
- Oversee fabrication processes including cutting, forming, assembly, and finishing
- Maintain quality standards and ensure compliance with SMACNA specifications where applicable
- Drive Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement
- Monitor productivity, equipment utilization, and operational performance
- Manage inventory of raw materials and fabrication supplies
- Enforce OSHA safety standards and conduct regular safety meetings
- Coach, mentor, and develop production employees
- Collaborate with project managers and leadership to improve workflow and production efficiency
QualificationsRequired
- 5 years supervising manufacturing, sheet metal fabrication, or mechanical construction operations
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes
- Experience with press brakes, shears, plasma tables, CNC equipment, or similar fabrication machinery
- Lean Manufacturing experience (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, or similar)
- Experience using ERP, MRP, or warehouse management systems
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards
Preferred
- HVAC duct fabrication experience
- SMACNA knowledge
- Lean or Six Sigma certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Experience with CNC programming or automated fabrication equipment
