Safety Coordinator – Electrical Construction
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Safety Coordinator to support a large-scale commercial healthcare construction project. This position will be responsible for reinforcing safe work practices, promoting a strong safety culture, and ensuring compliance with OSHA, company, and customer safety requirements.
The Safety Coordinator will serve as a safety resource for employees, supervisors, project teams, and customers while proactively identifying hazards, conducting safety audits, supporting training initiatives, and assisting with incident investigations.
Project Information
• New construction of a seven-story mixed-use building
• Level 1: Amenities and retail/rental spaces
• Levels 1.5 – 4: Parking structure
• Levels 5 – 7: Healthcare facility build-out
Key Responsibilities
• Act as a safety subject matter expert and resource for field personnel and management.
• Perform jobsite safety audits and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
• Coach and mentor employees on safe work practices and corrective actions.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, orientations, and safety training.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring site-specific safety plans.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of company safety programs.
• Monitor jobsite conditions and assist project teams in resolving safety concerns.
• Conduct incident investigations and assist with corrective action implementation.
• Report incidents and safety concerns to management and customers within required timeframes.
• Monitor company equipment, tools, and vehicles for safety compliance.
• Prepare and submit safety reports, audits, observations, and documentation.
• Maintain positive working relationships with employees, customers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Required
• Minimum of 3 years of construction safety experience
• OSHA 30 Certification Required
• Valid Driver's License
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and construction safety regulations
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work in both office and active construction environments
Preferred
• Electrical construction experience
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Experience supporting healthcare, commercial, or multi-story construction projects
• First Aid, CPR, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens certifications
Physical Requirements
• Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and personnel lifts
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outdoor environments
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and navigate construction areas
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to hear alarms, warning signals, and verbal instructions in noisy environments
Compensation
• Starting pay of $32.00/hour , depending on experience
• No per diem offered
