HVAC Operations Manager - Commercial HVAC | Mt. Crawford, VA
We are hiring an HVAC Operations Manager in Mt. Crawford, VA for our client, a commercial HVAC/mechanical contractor supporting service and installation operations. This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced HVAC professional who can build strong teams, improve day-to-day operations, manage resources, and help deliver safe, efficient, high-quality work.
The HVAC Operations Manager will provide leadership across HVAC operations while working closely with supervisors, technicians, dispatch, sales, and support teams. What You'll Do
- Lead daily commercial HVAC service and/or installation operations.
- Coach and develop supervisors and technicians through clear expectations, accountability, training, and support.
- Promote safety practices, OSHA compliance, toolbox talks, and near-miss reporting.
- Coordinate manpower, schedules, equipment, and other resources with internal teams.
- Manage labor efficiency, manpower planning, scheduling, and overtime.
- Oversee maintenance agreements, time-and-material work, and projects.
- Monitor estimating, costing, documentation, billing preparation, progress billing, cash flow, collections support, and performance reporting.
- Visit job sites to review safety, quality, progress, and project scope.
- Address customer concerns professionally and identify practical solutions.
- Drive process improvements that increase operational efficiency, quality, and profitability.
- At least 7 years of HVAC experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibility.
- Strong commercial HVAC service and/or installation knowledge.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage operational resources.
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency with service-management software and Microsoft Office.
- EPA certification and/or an HVAC trade license preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle record check.
- Ability to provide occasional after-hours support and travel to job sites as needed.
