What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Manager position at KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing?
Account Manager
Full-Time | $65,000–$85,000 base salary | 5% GP-based commission/override structure
Kodiak Labor Solutions is seeking a relationship-driven, operationally minded Account Manager to help grow and support key customer accounts across our workforce solutions business.
In this role, you will serve as the connection point between our clients, sales team, recruiting organization, operations, and field workforce. You will help expand existing accounts, identify new staffing opportunities, support recruiting and workforce mobilization, and deliver a high-touch client experience.
Kodiak was built from within the recruiting organization of a major national mechanical contractor so supporting contractors and workforce execution is in our DNA. We provide skilled trades staffing, traveler labor programs, direct hire, project services, and technical and professional staffing solutions in the Heavy Industrial, Mission Critical, and Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing Industries
What You’ll Do
- Grow assigned client accounts through consistent communication, site visits, operational reviews, and workforce support.
- Travel (up to 30%) to client offices and jobsites.
- Identify opportunities to expand Kodiak’s services into additional projects, facilities, departments, and divisions.
- Build trusted relationships with hiring managers, project managers, superintendents, procurement, operations leaders, HR, and workforce teams.
- Partner closely with recruiting teams to prioritize openings, improve fill ratios, accelerate starts, and support workforce ramp-ups.
- Support candidate screening, interviews, qualification reviews, and hiring coordination when needed.
- Help manage onboarding, compliance tracking, start-date coordination, workforce communication, and attendance follow-up.
- Monitor active workforce performance and client satisfaction; resolve workforce-related issues promptly and professionally.
- Participate in account strategy discussions and help position Kodiak as a long-term workforce partner rather than a transactional staffing vendor.
- Support customer workforce needs tied to capital projects, shutdowns, turnarounds, maintenance programs, manufacturing support, and industrial construction growth.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in staffing, recruiting, account management, workforce solutions, or industrial/construction operations.
- Experience supporting skilled trades staffing, contract staffing, direct hire, or high-volume workforce programs.
- Strong relationship-building, communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across sales, recruiting, operations, payroll, safety, and client teams.
- Comfort supporting recruiting activity directly when needed.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams, and Word; familiarity with ATS, CRM, or staffing systems is preferred.
Preferred Background
Experience supporting clients in industrial construction, manufacturing, petrochemical, energy, skilled trades, light industrial, EPC/EPCM, data center construction, maintenance, or turnaround environments is strongly preferred.
Location
Can be based anywhere in the Southeastern U.S. preferably in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, or Tennessee
What Success Looks Like
- Growing revenue and workforce utilization within assigned accounts
- Increasing fill ratios and supporting successful workforce ramp-ups
- Strengthening client retention, satisfaction, and long-term partnerships
- Delivering responsive, accountable service to both clients and field employees
If you enjoy building relationships, solving workforce challenges, and helping clients execute critical projects, we would like to hear from you.
