Automated Equipment Technician

We are looking for an Automated Equipment Mechanic / Technician to support the Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY. Pay $32 - $40/hour

As an Automated Equipment Mechanic you will have the following responsibilities:

• AEM skilled trade to provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC’s), and electrical components).
• Ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment.
• Some experience or expertise in piping, HVAC equipment and controls.
• Ability to achieve a high level of expertise of chemical process equipment for effective troubleshooting and equipment repair.
• Execute preventive maintenance program.
• Calibrate, align, and make adjustments with test equipment and production equipment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools.

Qualifications include:

• HS diploma.
• Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training and demonstrated experience.
• Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment.
• Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings.
• Able to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems.
• Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
• Excellent safety record – places safety and environment as top priority in all work.
• Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out.
• Understanding of electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids).
• Good communication skills – daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed.
• Good team player – willing be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed.

Minimum Education Level and experience:

• 2-year schooling and/or 5 plus years of demonstrated experience.

Work Schedule:

• Work schedule will be days initially and during shutdowns.
• Rotating Shift: 5-week rotations 4 times per year.

Two, 12-hour days followed by two 12-hour nights, then 4 days off. Includes additional shift allowance pay.

Pay: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour
