What You'll Do
- Review project and sales order drawings for accuracy and completeness, and resolve questions or discrepancies with engineering.
- Develop and maintain BOMs, material lists, part numbers, and part descriptions for assemblies, weldments, and fabricated components.
- Optimize linear steel requirements, issue RFQs to steel suppliers, and review and compare supplier quotes.
- Create and manage production orders, including work centers, operations, labor times, and material assignments.
- Coordinate materials, inventory transfers, and scrap/drops tracking to support production and procurement.
- Maintain the Release Tracker and Shipping Schedule, and coordinate the release of completed work to the shop.
- Build relationships with new and alternative suppliers/vendors for raw materials and manufacturing processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in production planning, steel fabrication release, or estimating within a metal fabrication or industrial equipment environment strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and identify errors or missing information.
- Proficiency in Acumatica or similar ERP systems, Procore, and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and vendor-management skills, with a continuous improvement mindset.
