CAD Designer / Product Designer
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Location: American Products - 598 Evergreen Strafford MO 65757

As a CAD Designer / Product Designer, you’ll collaborate with customers, sales, and production to create high‑quality, custom equipment, while helping improve future designs through innovation and expertise.

What You’ll Do
- Design custom communications enclosures using 3D modeling software
- Modify existing production designs to meet customer needs
- Create bills of material, customer drawings, and manufacturing documentation
- Support design testing and continuous improvement efforts
- Develop innovative design solutions to improve quality and reduce cost
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, production, and customers
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
- Equivalent education and hands‑on experience considered
Experience & Skills
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor preferred)
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Syteline a plus)
- Sheet metal design experience required
- Stamping dies, jigs, and fixtures experience preferred
- 2 years of industrial mechanical engineering experience
Professional Skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to work professionally with internal teams and customers
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 25 lbs, and use hands for detailed work
- Must wear safety glasses and steel‑toe boots
- Safety procedures must be followed at all times
