Controller

Koch Air, LLC has been focused on the distribution of quality Carrier residential and commercial products since 1936, and is among the oldest and largest Carrier distributors. Today, Koch Air, has eleven branch locations, 35 delivery vehicles, and more than 300,000 square feet of equipment and parts warehousing throughout the Midwest.

We are seeking a Controller to partner with the CFO in the financial activities of Koch Air, LLC., Koch Applied Solutions, and Standard Air. As the Controller, you will oversee the general accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with company goals. Your leadership will guide a talented team and support all areas of the business with financial insight.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the general accounting functions for the organization.
• Manage accounts payable, drive process improvements, maximize cash discounts, and mentor your team.
• Oversee cash applications, sales & use tax preparation, fixed asset accounting, and reconciliation activities.
• Complete annual 1099s, local and personal property tax returns.
• Develop and maintain accounting procedure manuals to train and support team members.
• Take a lead role in the annual financial audit, building productive relationships with external auditors.
• Perform month-end close and financial statement preparation, including KPI reporting and ad hoc analysis.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and provide detailed analysis for management.
• Calculate monthly sales team commissions.
• Participate in the annual budgeting process and assist with physical inventory.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting
• 5 years of professional accounting experience
• 2 years of management or supervisory experience
• Strong ERP and Microsoft Excel skills
• Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and manage multiple priorities.
