Supports the EHS team by conducting inspections, maintaining compliance records, and assisting with environmental and health programs. This role ensures day-to-day safety practices are followed and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspections & Audits:
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly EHS inspections of facilities, equipment, and work areas.
- Use checklists and digital tools to document findings and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Assist in internal audits to verify compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
Incident Support:
- Assist in investigating workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses by gathering evidence and statements.
- Support root cause analysis and help implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure timely reporting of all incidents, accidents, and near-miss events.
- Utilize Dakota Software for incident reporting and data entry to ensure compliance and accurate documentation.
- Assist supervisors and leadership with navigating and using Dakota Software as needed for incident management and reporting.
- Participate in injury and illness incidents by ensuring all required workers’ compensation documents are completed by the injured associate.
- Ensure the injured or ill associate is safely transported or escorted to a medical facility for evaluation and treatment.
Environmental Compliance:
- Monitor waste disposal, recycling, and hazardous material handling to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Assist with spill prevention programs and emergency response for environmental incidents.
- Assist with maintaining records for environmental permits and inspections.
- Collect water samples from designated areas and prepare them for laboratory testing to verify compliance with environmental standards.
- Complete daily environmental compliance audits in production departments to ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Document findings from audits and sampling activities and report any non-conformances to EHS leadership for corrective action.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Inspect and calibrate safety equipment such as gas detectors, eyewash stations, AED’s, first aid stations/kits and fire extinguishers.
- Maintain inventory of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure availability for employees.
- Support PPE vending by assisting associates with issues and troubleshooting errors to ensure continuous access to personal protective equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all EHS-related items, including PPE, first aid materials, waste drums/totes, and other EHS supplies.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment with EHS leadership to prevent shortages and maintain compliance.
- Operate mobile equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, carts) to safely transport materials and items as part of EHS tasks.
Training & Emergency Preparedness:
- Participate in emergency drills and assist in evaluating effectiveness.
- Ensure emergency equipment is accessible and functional.
- Complete all required trainings in a timely manner to maintain compliance and readiness.
Documentation:
- Maintain inspection reports and ensure they are properly entered into Microsoft Forms.
- Prepare summaries from internal audit results.
- Assist in tracking KPIs and generating monthly safety performance reports.
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in safety committee meetings and provide feedback on improvement initiatives.
- Suggest practical solutions for hazard reduction and process improvements.
- Support implementation of new safety technologies and programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in EHS or related field.
- OSHA 10-Hour Certification (preferred).
