Job Summary:

KO Safety Services is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Field Safety Technician to support safety operations in various field environments. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with safety regulations, conduct inspections, provide training, and maintain a safe work environment for all personnel. Customer oil & gas locations are land base environments, and/or shop. Occasionally climbing stairs and ladders. Working from Heights. May be frequently exposed to wet, humid, snow, cold and extreme weather conditions and vibration.

Possible Work Hazards: High pressure, high elevations, H2S and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site safety inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Perform and document safety audits and incident investigations.
  • Operate and maintain safety equipment, including gas monitors and breathing air trailers.
  • Provide on-site safety support and guidance to personnel.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in confined space entry monitoring and rescue operations if required.
  • Calibration on portable and fixed gas detection equipment, air sampling equipment, and sound level equipment at customer locations
  • Perform calibrations, repairs, rebuilds and general maintenance on customer equipment.
  • Work in the field and shop
  • Rig up basic Gas Detection Systems
  • Operate and maintain gas detection systems and breathing air safety equipment.
  • Complete all KO Safety Services LLC and Customer documentation associated with assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner. This includes all inspection and repair documents, job cost billable expenses and time sheets.
  • Ensures that all SKA's and SCBA's are functional, fully charged, and clean.
  • Performs other functions and may cross-train as part of training and development.
  • Assist others in facility with inspection, cleaning, servicing, reassembling, and testing shop equipment, SCBA’s, manifolds, regulators, hoses, and other safety equipment.
  • Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Performs basic maintenance and care of assigned vehicle and/or trailer.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, and industry safety regulations.
  • Ability to operate and maintain safety equipment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., good mobility, and work in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAFE GULF or SAFE LAND or PEC Basic, confined space entry and rescue training
  • CPR/First Aid Training
  • Previous experience in safety-related roles, industrial environments, or emergency response preferred.
  • Service Skill Training
  • Trained to complete site inspections
  • Manufacturer trained in fixed gas detections
  • Additional Certifications: OSHA 10, OSHA 30, RSO (Radiation Safety Officer)
  • Experience with confined space rescue and gas detection systems.
  • Previous experience in oil & gas, construction, or industrial safety roles.
