Essential Functions
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments in the public health clinic and through outreach in the community.
- Assist Physicians and Certified Nurse Practitioners (CNPs) with procedures in a clinic environment.
- Perform diagnostic testing and screenings as ordered (e.g., lab draws, point-of-care testing).
- Schedule and coordinate follow-up exams and specialist referrals.
- Complete all required documentation, forms, and reports in accordance with public health standards.
- Obtain prior authorizations for medications, procedures, or referrals as needed.
- Perform nursing procedures per provider orders, such as medication administration, wound care, and specimen collection.
- Administer immunizations to both children and adults in the clinic and during outreach events throughout the community.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of immunization schedules, vaccine storage/handling, and public health guidelines.
- Participate in public health initiatives such as health fairs, vaccination drives, and community education events.
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio.
- CPR certification (Basic Life Support).
- Prior experience (2 years) in public health, community health, or primary care preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
